AMERO Digital Currency Transactions Have Started
June 21, 2018
The AMERO payment system is now fully functional and AMERO transactions are taking place.
The new people's digital currency can be redeemed for a wide range of goods and services from hundreds of participating vendors, with a stready stream of new vendors signing up each day.
The AMERO is a centrally managed digital currency designed for government-to-business (G2B) and business-to-business (B2B) transactions. Unlike decentralized cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, AMERO is designed to be secure, stable and sustainable.
500 billion AMERO have been created with an initial assigned value of $1USD/AMERO. At least 90% will be given as grants to government agencies, non-profit organizations and for important R&D.
When a company signs up to accept AMERO they receive up to 2,500 AMERO and buyers and sellers will receive matching AMERO for qualified transactions for the next 90 days in order to help seed and expand the AMERO network.
An exchange where AMERO can be traded for national currencies is planned for later this year.
While the AMERO is intended primarily for North and Central America and the Caribbean, it is being used as far away as the tiny Himalayan Kingdom Bhutan.
